Assisted Living

The Highlands was the first retirement community in Midcoast Maine to offer Assisted Living. Cadigan Lodge at The Highlands offers residents support and services to bridge a gap between fully independent living and the need for higher levels of care. Residents receiving Assisted Living services benefit from support with activities of daily living, such as bathing and dressing.  

Residents enjoy their own private one-bedroom apartment with kitchenette and a full bath, all handicap-accessible, and with all the services to provide peace of mind. This includes professionally licensed staff on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week; medication management; weekly housekeeping with laundry service; three delicious chef-prepared meals daily. A life enrichment program provides plenty of activities and special fitness programs designed to meet the personal needs of each resident.   

Cadigan Lodge boasts its own gracious dining room, living room with fireplace, a well-stocked library, activities room and even a full-service hair salon. Transportation to appointments and outings is provided to residents who reside at Cadigan Lodge.
